Some Firsts...

These precious tiny toes are one month old now... aren't these shoe-socks darling?

Oh, it's so exhausting, all this growing!

And, with another first....Ellie can write her name! (or at least the letters of it...she still needs help with the order.) We were doing a little water painting in the backyard, and I guess all that practice with the dots ot help has paid off...she stroked out an 'E' and then an 'L'.You should have seen the big, beautiful, proud smile!

Lia herself, is developing before our eyes. This week while coloring, she started to draw recognizable faces- eyes, mouth, etc. (Some parts too, we don't quite understand- a goatee?) Some funny "Lia'isms" lately: "Polka-knots", for polka-dots- so she puts on her "polka-knot shoes" and sleeps on her "polka-knot sheets". She constantly refers to Aurie as 'he'... "he's opens his eyes..." to let us know Aurie's awake.

As you can see, Aurie loves it outside too...every time we go outside, she konks out. I think it's the warmth...no shortage of that around here! Of course, this is after nursing too- my favorite expression, with the little open mouth, and entirely passed out. LOVE those lips :)
My sillies playing with mommy's velcro rollers. It only took them half an hour to figure out they stick in your hair :) These funny girls- we were "going around the circle" a few nights ago, and Ellie was on one side with her bike, and Lia was on the other on her tricycle. So Ellie calls out to Lia, and rides toward her, and then Lia gets off her bike, Ellie gets off of hers, a few houses away, and they run to each other and hug like long lost friends. It was really sweet.

Such soft sweetness...so content...

I love her coloring. She's so smooth and creamy pink. I'm sure the girls were the same, I just don't remember loving that about their little baby selves. I remember loving Lia's mouth, the way her bottom lip would fold over on itself when she was laying down sleeping. Ellie's tiny froggie legs were my favorite part. They were so incredibly small. It's amazing they plumped up to the rolls and rolls that they had a few months later!

Malibu Ellie!

(Compliments of Nana...what a bathing suit!)

Having just a little bit of fun running through the sprinklers :)

Lovin' that heat!

We got a new pool for them...a step up from the wee baby pool we've had for three years. It was a hit :) and a heck of a lot easier to blow up!
