This absolutely scrumptious little girl has us all melting in her sweet little hands on a regular basis...her sisters included. Who knows if it's the darling way she says "sanks" for Thanks, tells you she's going to do something for a "li-lil minute", or just how she cups her hand on your cheek when she's snuggling. Any way...we'll take it! :) Enjoying every minute of her. Aurie is so far advanced from Ellie at the same age, or even Lia...it's just astounding. She knows her colors and how to count, pretends along with the girls, will ask you how something works or what something is (trick or treating, before Halloween, that came up in a book), and of course, will share her thoughts and feelings on just about anything. I love the way the girls play with her- Lia, during the day, so gentle and sweet most of the time, helping Aurie (and funny when you hear her get impatient because Aurie is simply too little to understand how to "be the man"in pretending, and yells at her). And then Ellie, the true big sister, and I think likes using Aurie as her big dolly :) Aurie trails after both of them, and has always wanted to, and continues, to want to do everything her older sisters do.
Here's the crew at school... our usual scene in the morning. We meet Holly...Ellie's BFF...and walk in together.
This was an exciting morning a few weeks ago when we had some flurries...the girls' first.
This was our crazy weekend without a sink or kitchen (you don't see these guys complaining on a Dunkin Donuts breakfast morning ;)). Below, first quartz countertops, then next, stone tile backsplash..
(Eventually, I'll get a pic of the whole kitchen altogether... difficult waiting for a time when dishes- clean or dirty- aren't piled up!)
And we have our weekly activities- dance and gymnastics- with Lia happily dancing again after a short hiatus (no idea why). Had to post this sweet pic I just put up in my room of the little dancer, just playing pretend dancer for mommy...seems like forever ago. Have to share a funny of Lia mentioning one day recently, that she had a dream. Of course, you have to wonder as she starts telling if it truly was a dream or Lia spinning one of her tales as she is known to do (fantastical stuff..wonder what she's 'told' the babysitters!), especially since Ellie has just started telling us she even has dreams, and tells about them. But, just the same, Lia says she dreamt that a police car stopped our car and mommy got out of our car and the police took me away. So, I say, oh no, why would the police take mommy away. Lia responds, "Because you're a bad driver!" Thanks! ;) From a four year old!
And lately, this is how you'll find Ellie and I after school, walking home from the bus stop.. it's become our special 5 minutes together, piggyback ride and all..
And then there was the Christmas tree hunt :) Yes, a real one...and yes, we cut it down ourselves. It was both comical and exhausting :)
What a strong daddy;)
When we got it home, though we were worried about finding one that looked dwarf, it ended up a good thing we have so much space int he front room- it barely fit! But, it looks wonderful, and even Sedona approves :)
A no frills visit with Santa at the tree farm (we happened upon it ;) and it was a really cute nervous and smiley Ellie that was courageous enough to crawl up on his lap.
And lastly, the Brownsburg Christmas Parade, which everyone started out unsure of, but after the first fistfuls of candy started flying, it was a winner! It turns out we need not worry about Ellie, who can definitely handle her own, when put up against other kiddos... she was an animal! ;) In a good way though... and was so sweet to share her loot with her sisters who weren't as quite aggressive.
