Spring Break Fun

So, we threw together a last minute adventure to sneak some fun into our spring break. I was thrilled this year's didn't include any snow, and we had perfect weather for our trip to Columbus and Cincinnati. The goodies in the car kept themselves busy and our first stop included a really exciting hockey game for mommy and daddy. Penguins and Bluejackets- while the girls visited with Auntie Jen at the hotel- and we won!

Our next stop brought us over to Cincinnati, where we visited a museum complex at the old train station- it was huge! We took in an iMax movie about the South Pacific and conserving the coral reefs- I think they liked it a lot for the most part. We kind of lost Lia a little by the end. The Children's museum was a little smaller than expected, but had some fun parts…we continued on into the Natural History Museum where exploring a cave, and an ice cave was their favorite.

Monday's sunshine was perfect for enjoying the zoo, along with the other half of Cincy on spring break…but it was still a really good time. We had another 4D movie- a short, take-off of Rio, took a train ride, and got to really see a nice number of active animals- Lia's favorite, the Red Panda, daddy's- the mountain lions, who were really getting around- leaping and such, and these polar bears playing in the water that looked like an advertisement for a zoo…really cool.

(Bamboo- ever important for panda lovers)

Aurie's shirt had one of these guys on it..

Lia, fascinated by the peacock… and styling in her 4D glasses…

Our drive home included a stop in Columbus where daddy discovered the best Scotch Ale he's ever had and a fun playground for the girls to burn off some energy...
