Springtime!

It's hard to believe, but we're actually having one this year! It has been absolutely gorgeous these past few weeks, with moderate temperatures, and sunshine. The girls love to spend time outside, so it's been perfect. Usually, after our "chilly" winter, it shoots up into the 90s and 100s pretty quickly. So, our spring this year has been sooooo nice!

Of course, my best shot of this little monkey had to be after our hair was messed up!
This one is starting to stretch her two-year old wings, and her opinion! At moments, she can be so delightful and has us just melting with her baby talk, and cuddles. Lately, however, it's intermittent with little (or big!) fits...mommy's pretty determined to nip it in the bud however...after all, she had to get her determination from somewhere! :) Poor thing was sick this weekend, and is recovering thankfully. When I had her sitting, covered head to toe, trying to assess where to start cleaning, the poor darling says, "What happened?" in her little baby voice. I guess that would be a scary thing if you've never had it happen before. I felt so bad for her.
I tried to get some shots of these adorable little legs...I could just nibble them! We went out last week to get our shoes for the summer and found the cutest polka dot slip-on Keds for Lia. I tried to convince Ellie to choose the same, but the darned place had princess shoes just too visible. Princess shoes it was! Ellie has big "princess"moments lately, and loves to don her ballerina skirt, the towering princess hat I brought home from school after cleaning out my cupboards, and her fancy purple plastic high heels and call herself a princess. I had my 7-month baby check this past week (all is well!), and she insisted that it was needed for our visit. Of course, everyone in the waiting room thought it was darling, and I thought the crowning touch was when she whipped out her toothbrush "wand"!

My sweeties... hard to believe one more is on the way. I'm sure it'll be all too soon since we have such a busy two months ahead of us with all kinds of visits from friends and family, and a trip planned to a cabin in Sedona. My friends have also been so sweet and wanted to throw me a shower for the baby, and school will be ending soon. So we've got lots going on! Ellie has continued to be funny about the baby, and recently in the car, out of the blue, she says to me, "Mommy, I've been waiting sooo long for this baby!" Yes, I know what you mean! :)
And, slowly but surely, our house continues to transform, getting ready for that baby we've waited so long for. After mommy and daddy decided it was for the best that we don't play up top in our new bed, mommy made some little curtains so that the bottom was just as fun! (Aren't they sweet? I was so proud of them!) There are a few touches still to be completed in their new room (you should see how flexible Ellie's been, especially considering she's flip flopped from the one bedroom and back again. At times now, it's hard to determine which room someone is talking about- Ellie's "new room", Ellie's "old" room, but I think we've all got it now and everyone's calling the pink room, the "baby's room".)
