Happy 7th Birthday!

The birthday girl, on her midweek birth day, enjoying her bunch of flowers, and some panda sugar cookies mommy slaved over…hey, they turned out! :) She woke up to a tableful of presents, couldn't resist opening a small one in the morning, but waited until that evening to open the rest. Many thanks to Nana and Grandma for making it extra special with presents from afar!

So, as we're playing it low key this year with no parties, the girls were told they could invite a friend over for cake. Lia's choice turned out to be difficult, and after sending a note to go home with this little girl from the bus, we had no reply. So, she ended up having a friend from around the corner over, along with her sister, and our neighborhood friend as well. Mommy took the easy way out and added decorations to a store cake..I know! (But the "bamboo"green candles were a great idea from Ellie and Lia) All's well that ends well!

Glorious Spring...

Happy Easter Egg Hunters…

After last year's helicopter drop mishap, Aurie was a very happy camper with a basketful. Ellie braved it in her section alone, and was a smart, cautious girl who was left with only three eggs. 

 The ever exciting Rubber Ducky Race… everyone decorated their ducks and spotted them floating along in the creek, except for poor Ellie whose duck must have stuck someplace. We waited until the last netful to retrieve it at last.. 

 Easter Morning

 Our new skates and hockey sticks were a big hit…

 We wanted to tease daddy and send him a text to say Ellie had won this car, but we didn't have the heart. 

 After the game, we made our way to get our skate rentals since we were going to skate with the players, only to find the opposing team leaving the ice and heading to their locker room right near us!
