Lately

So, it was one of those moments, when I couldn't get all three to stay put, look at me, or look "normal", no matter what crazy sound I made or what I could say to them. We were headed out the door to the boys' birthday dinner, and everyone looked cute all dolled up. Ellie, for whatever reason, was giving me these crazy poses. 

And here's the big girl crashing on the couch during "nap time" when she's been looking at books or playing on the Nook lately. This afternoon, her heavy eyelids got the best of her...

And so...the half hearted "adopting" of these two kitties continues... When the weather turned chilly, and we saw them cuddling on the empty dirt in one of the pots, we couldn't help but have them tear at our hearts. So, mommy went to work, sewing up a handy dandy bed, which they love, and cuddle in every night now... sigh....

And the night finally arrives, after weeks of fun thinking about it :) What a fun time we had, hanging out in the driveway, talking with neighbors, and trick or treating! Aurie, as you can imagine, had an absolute blast and really got the hang of it. She was quite content being pulled along in the wagon we borrowed, but was sure to try to hold up her little pumpkin when we were at each door (especially if mommy missed doing it!). I think she had about 10 suckers that night (you'll notice all but a few shots without one!)... oh boy...what fun :) The girls loved looking at all the kids' costumes, more so than trick or treating. But they did, trick or treat, a bit- made me kind of teary eyed at one house with my two big girls calling out at the door... either cause they are getting so big, or just from memories of good times, trick or treating. It's been interesting after dinners, with them choosing a candy to have, since they don't know what they all are...mommy, what's inside this one? Is this bubble gum? Will I like this one?
