Princess Ball, among other things...

Lots o' happenings around here. Lots. So much, I can't keep up :)
So...here's a mix up the last few weeks...

Aurie's sitting up on her own...

(See how hard it is to get all three to look my way? ;) (And not squish each other?)

My first two sweethearts, envious of the pictures mommy was taking for eBay, wanted a turn...

Aurie's favorite spot...up in Ellie's bed. When the pattern began, that Ellie no longer fell asleep at nap time, I couldn't help but be so frustrated. It was the small time of peace I had to myself and usually was able to rock out a bunch of things around here. It was especially nice when Aurie fell into our routine of napping after lunch too. To break the cycle of daily frustration, we changed Ellie's 'time' to quiet time, and she reads books in her bed for a bit. Well, it's come full circle now, and I am grateful to have her help, and on days when Aurie's naps stray from the norm, Ellie plays with her up in her bed, and I'm able to still have a bit of time like before. She and Aurie have really connected, and both love to be with the other.
And then there was the ball... sigh...

Daddy's gym had an event called the Princess Ball, and he took our beautiful girl on a special daddy and Ellie night out. She was so darn excited. Loving to dress up anyhow, it was thrilling to be able to actually wear it out (when I explained, at first, she looked so surprised...like, I can?!

And this is the part where I cried. My big girl, who looked so darn tiny in that car. I just couldn't help it.

They had a wonderful time, of course, riding in the horse drawn stage coach with the other girls around the parking lot, doing princess crafts (and brought home a crown for her sister as well...I love how they think of each other!), eating cake, and dancing the night away. Daddy sent pictures on the phone all night so I could have a sneak peek. I was thrilled with how proud he was that she looked so special....thanks to Nana for our 'real' princess dress!

And then we had a birthday party to attend...the daughter of our first babysitter for Ellie, and with whom we've since become friends. (I also worked with her husband, Frank, at school...he was the only one who could feed Ellie her bottle! She wouldn't take it from anyone else!) It was a wonderful one, outdoors, where we go sometimes to feed the ducks. The girls had a blast. They so love parties...especially the 'goodie bags'!

(What a sweet picture from our friend Tina...thank you!)

And then there was Valentine's Day... here's daddy and his girls before the hockey game...
Though I questioned his good judgement, daddy's 'surprise' for Valentine's Day, was for us all to go see the Coyotes play the Washington Capitals. He really did have me (sort of ;) in mind, because we had just finished watching this behind the scenes series on the Penguins and the Capitals and I had really grown to like the Capitals. Not to say that I still didn't think he was nuts, but, I have to admit, we really did have a great time. Of course, the girls and I spent third period eating ice cream, while daddy caught the end of the game, but all in all, the girls still talk about it, and ask when we're going again.
 Howler...much safer from a distance...

Mmmmm....I like this hockey game ;)

Some laughs for you :)

Not that life is all laughs....trust me, it's not. We do, thankfully, have our share though. This is our incentive for washing hair (an undesirable thing, that washing of hair)..."crazy hair"

Morning snuggles on the couch...

This girls and I got busy one afternoon making a cake we were given from Mr. Jeurgen in Germany...heart shaped, with sprinkles (and instructions in German!) It was great!

Some giggles from Aurie- they were huge, until I got the camera out of course, but this catches a couple. She laughs like crazy sometimes over certain things. Ellie has the greatest ability to make her laugh.

OK, so I'll preface the following artwork... looking at it horizontally, the first, is Lia's...starting to look like recognizable things. Here, a rainbow, and sun. Next, again horizontally, is Ellie's with her and daddy as stormtroopers with light sabers (yes, obsessed strangely with Star Wars all of a sudden), and then, my favorite, our family, by Ellie , a first for her to do (all of us). If it doesn't make you laugh at loud (the resemblance to....? ;) then I don't know what will! :) HAHAHAHA! (Wait til she's twenty and we show her this one!)
