Still Smilin'...

Kinda hard to tell from these pictures what a mess these two are lately. Fortunately, the coughing seems to have subsided and I'm praying we won't get another wave, thought he doctor has said there are ups and downs through recovering. And as if that, and Lia's pink eye wasn't enough, Ellie's had some mysterious rash/hive/reaction happening on and off for three days now. Agh! I wish I could just take it all away for them. They are, however, still quite industrious and happy, thank goodness! Well, maybe not the industrious part. Take last night for example. While mommy was getting dinner ready, and daddy was talking to grandma on the phone ("watching", from an island stool), Ellie and Lia decided it was a good idea to remove all of the potted plants from mommy's pots on the patio. Lovely. So, one by one, they were yanked out, and then carried over to a spot on the rocks. (Bills said he thinks Ellie had intentions of replanting, since she had scratched out a spot of rocks too). Oh, and after having had to put them all back, there was no sense in replanting since all of the actual flower heads had been picked off. Lovely. I'm grateful for being able to see the comical side of it all (or else I'd be pulling my hair out!).

The dolls, either calling for Dookie, a neighbor's cat who walks the wall in the back, and sometimes our yard, or the Easter Beagle (aka. Snoopy, from "It's Easter Charlie Brown", or "Panda Brown" as Lia calls him).

Aloha!

We headed over to Tempe Town Lake Park for an Aloha festival last weekend to enjoy some hula and sunshine. We had fun and the girls enjoyed the light rail ride over, the hula dancing (like Lilo and Stitch) and the shaved ice (can you tell? ;)! They made paper leis and even ate a Hawaiian lunch (Lia called it all "chicken"). It was just fun to walk along and remind ourselves of that beautiful place, and all of our wonderful memories there. I took a breath in of a real tuberose and orchid lei (and had Ellie smell too!) and it took me right back..ahhhh....

Of course, this was literally the day before a horrible night of coughing for Lia and myself, and had we known what was to come this week, I think we might have thought better to go :( One would have thought the abundant sunshine would have been beneficial! My poor dears seem to have gone from one thing to the next and thankfully, aren't too worse for wear, especially their moods. They're still gung-ho and smiling. I'm only hoping it's all over soon.

Havin' Fun...

Here are my bright eyed cuties enjoying a stop to feed the ducks at new place mommy learned of thanks to Miss Amy and one of the parents of a student in my class. The goal was mostly to distract/reward for my poor Ellie who had to get a shot. I just hate those. She was good, and it was soon forgotten, thankfully.

I didn't have the chance to tell about the latest funnies in the last post. Lia's calling Ellie, "Edy Bedy" (Ellie Belly) has become the norm. When she really wants her attention, it becomes just "Bedy!" It's expecially funny that the number of "Mommy!"'s has decreased, and calling "Bedy!" is more common during the course of a day. Ellie's reaction is funny too, because usually, it's Lia sharing some something inconsequential, ("Bedy!" "WHAT?" "I pooped." "Oh.") or else, Ellie sounds like she's "busy", and gives a big huff before answering "What?". Ha! How does it feel to be called fifty million times a day!?

At last....the bean bag chairs are complete. Now let me tell you, if you have those in mind to sew, I have some tips for you! Oh boy, were they a project. I did my first zippers, which was an adventure in itself, and the stuffing of the darn things....ugh. I am thrilled they are finished...now it's onto the next project...the girls' canopy bunk bed....stay tuned :)

Lovin' the little Easter bunny...
Havin; fun together...
